Matteo Fagotto (b. 1978, Italy) is an award-winning author, writer and podcast host.
His articles and reports have appeared in more than one hundred publications worldwide, including TIME, Newsweek, Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, The Guardian and The Independent.
Among his most notable works are reports on war-related issues in Libya and Somalia, illegal mining in Indonesia and Nigeria, land grabbing in Cambodia, climate change in West Africa and modern-day slavery in Nepal.
He is the co-founder of Tandem Reportages, a journalistic and photographic agency specialised in underreported global issues through high-quality text and picture reportages, which are regularly published by major media outlets in five continents.
His podcast The Lost – a two-year-long investigation on the tens of thousands of Spain’s stolen children still looking for their biological families – premiered on Audible in October 2022.
Matteo has an M. A. in History at La Sapienza University in Rome and speaks four languages (English, French, Spanish and Italian). He writes in English and Italian.
